FRIENDS FROM INDIA

As you may have noticed from all the posting on Facebook, Friday was Valentines Day. My boyfriend and I don't really celebrate this day, because we both think it is more about making or spending money than sharing time together! So we went for a simple lunch at the Vapiano's ( I love it, especially GRANCHI DI FIUME crayfish, fresh vegetables and lobster sauce!!), after that to his co-workers at the "Freiraum" at the Mariahilfestraße to grab a coffe. Then we went for a walk down the Mariahilferstraße, one of the main shopping streets of Vienna.      We tried to do some windowshopping, but of course I had to take a look into the Butlers store were I fell in love with this beautiful furniture.

After falling in love with my hopefully new furniture, a young Indian couple from Mumbai was asking us were they could go out tonight, for to see the nightlife of Vienna. We suggested them a lot of different locations. They both were such lovely people, that my boyfriend, Tony, and I asked them if they would mind, us joinimg them for a drink. They both seemed to be happy about that suggestion so we went together to the "Café Leopold". There we got into a conversation with beautiful Swati and her lovley husband. They both are living in Mumbai and are married for about 14 years. It was really interesting, we were talking about the differences in our culture and the commonalities. How different life in Austria and Iran is  than the life in Mumbai.

Do you know this feeling, you don't really know a person, but you feel kinda close to them. Thats exactly how we felt with Swati and her husband! There wasn't one akward situation, and I would be happy  seeing them again! We both exchanged our email adresses to stay in touch. We invited them to come to see Vienna again, because they only stayed for two days, and we wanted to show them some more of it. Reversely they invited us to come to visit them in Mumbai.

So Tony and I are planning now a vacation to India for the coming year! We are looking forward to seeing them again in January!
